Myles Powell didn’t hide his disappointment after Bay Area’s Game 3 loss to Ginebra.
Myles Powell expressed his displeasure in the aftermath of Bay Area’s 82-89 loss to Ginebra in Game 3 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals on Wednesday.
Minutes after the game, Powell pointed out on Twitter the disparity in foul count and free throw attempts in the loss that allowed the Gin Kings to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Hayden Blankley fouled out with still 5:33 remaining in the game, while Kobey Lam and Zhu Songwei were hobbled by foul trouble with 5 each. As a team, the Dragons committed 28 fouls. The Gin Kings? 12.
Powell, who is nursing a foot injury, also didn’t hide his disappointment over free throws, as the Gin Kings shot 38 free throws (but only made 24).
Meanwhile, the Dragons only had 10 in the game where they led by as many as 14 points, before squandering them in the homestretch.
In Game 2, Ginebra was in a similar position. The Dragons were awarded 21 free throws, while the Gin Kings only had 5.
When netizens brought this up to the American guard, the prolific import responded by saying it exactly proves his point. He then clamored for a “fair called game.”
