An old face in the local volleyball scene has reemerged, and it has found its way to the PVL.

The Foton Tornadoes, which played previously in the Philippine Superliga (PS), announced on Thursday via social media that they will be officially joining the country’s premier professional women’s volleyball league starting in the PVL Invitational Conference.

“After four years, we’re making our club volleyball comeback!” Foton announced on Facebook.

The forerunners of the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, the Tornadoes served notice that they are “ready to take the court by storm” in their foray into the PVL, whose second conference is set to unfurl on June 29.

The team gave no further details in their announcement but implored fans to “stay tuned for more details.”

With its entry, Foton will be bringing to the PVL a rich history, having been one of the pioneer teams of the aforementioned PSL, where it won a pair of Grand Prix championships in 2015 and 2016. Foton was also home to the Santiago sisters—Jaja and Dindin—for several years.

Foton will reportedly be the sister team of Chery Tiggo, which is expected to be a championship contender next conference after its massive recruitment spree in the offseason.
