The two guest teams are ready to make some noise in the Philippines.
The PVL on Thursday announced the two foreign guest teams that will take part in the ongoing Invitational Conference.
Making their debut in the league are Japan’s Kurashiki Ablaze and Vietnam’s Kin Bac Bac Ninh. They will join the tournament come the semifinal round.
Here are a few things to get to know the two teams better:
Kurashiki Ablaze
Kurashiki achieved impressive feats over the past season. The Japanese team recently acquired the V.League Superleague 3 License for the 2023-2024 season, which qualifies it to be part of the premier league in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Ablaze also bagged 2nd place in the 12th National Volleyball League Overall Men's and Women's Championship.
Additionally, they emerged as winners in the 13th National Six-Man Volleyball League Overall Men's and Women's Tournament, Western Tournament, and secured 3rd place in the 13th National Volleyball League Grand Champion Match.
Kinh Bac Bac Ninh
Kinh Bac Bac Ninh has achieved remarkable success in women's volleyball. In 2018, the Vietnamese squad secured first place and earned the right to compete in the National Championship. The following year, the team battled against some of the strongest teams in the country and earned the bronze medal.
The squad continued its success in 2020 as Kinh Bac Bac Ninh bagged the bronze medal once more, solidifying its position among the strongest women's volleyball teams in Vietnam.
Can one of the two guest teams bring home the PVL Invitational Crown? We’ll find out soon enough.
