Cess Robles delivered when it mattered most for the Chery Tiggo Crossovers.

Robles dropped 8 of her 10 points in the third set where the Crossovers erased an 18-10 deficit on the way to the 25-21, 25-23, 25-22 win over the Farm Fresh Foxies in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday.

She was simply unstoppable in that set.

But she’s not about to hog the credit. After all, Imee Hernandez, Pauline Gaston, and EJ Laure chimed in to finish off the hard-fighting Foxies for good.

“Ginawa namin, nag-tiwala lang sa sarili at sa plano ng coaches. ‘Yung pagtutulungan namin sa loob ng court,” she said after the match.

With this spectacular performance off the bench, Robles earned the Player of the Game Honors—her first as a professional athlete.

Fans couldn’t help but be proud of the former NU Lady Bulldog.

@ustxchery said Robles deserves the award for helping the Crossovers close out the match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

@ceejaydln_ said what most fans felt as the Crossovers claimed the opening victory.

“Pakalakas ni ghagha!” he said.

But Robles didn’t seem satisfied. In an interview after the match, she said the team has a lot of work cut out for them as far as communication is concerned.

“‘Yung communication namin, medyo kulang,” she said. “Pero at the end nakuha namin.”
