The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers had quite a shaky start to the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference.

After bowing to the young Akari Chargers in their opening match, the Cargo Movers followed it up with a dominating win over newcomer Nxled Chameleons.

While F2 Logistics looked pretty impressive, coach Regine Diego would be the first to say that they're far from being a well-rounded crew. She, however, expressed optimism for their continued campaign.

“Hopefully, matuluy-tuloy namin ang laro namin. Meron pa rin naman kaming pagkukulang and nothing is perfect, so we just have to work through it every day,” said Diego after their win over Nxled.

She also pointed out a fact that should serve as a stern warning to the opposing teams.

“Meron na mas bata na another one na umaangat (sa team), so mas maganda 'yun sa team namin na iba-iba lahat. What if buo na kami? It could be better and better, so develop lang nang develop,” Diego added.

With the injured Kim Kianna Dy still out and Dawn Macandili-Catindig just making her season debut last Tuesday, the Cargo Movers are indeed not yet in their optimal form. And being a veteran squad, Diego and her spikers will only get even better for sure.

One of the bright spots for the team has been Ivy Lacsina, who has taken on the scoring role for the team amid the absence of KKD.

Diego had nothing but praise for Lacsina, who accepted her new position that she admittedly didn’t want at the beginning.

“Sobrang proud ako and happy ako kasi tumatanggap siya ng challenge. Madali siyang kausap kasi at first, alam namin lahat na ayaw ni Ivy ng opposite (spiker),” Diego said. “Siya 'yung nagbigay ng mas malaking value ngayon sa sarili niya.”

Lacsina was known, especially in the UAAP, as a middle blocker. But since joining the Cargo Movers, Ibyang has shifted seamlessly to the outside hitter position.

“Kahit saan mo ilagay si Ivy, kaya niya, and I don't think there's a lot of players who can do that, so whatever Ivy's doing now, it's just taking Philippine volleyball sa mas mataas na level,” said Diego.

Up next for the Cargo Movers will be the Galeries Tower Highrisers on Saturday at Candon, Ilocos Sur.
