Many were left wondering where the star spiker was.
The Creamline Cool Smashers are still unblemished in the PVL 2nd All-Filipino Conference.
The powerhouse unit improved to 6-0 on Tuesday after sweeping the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, 25-19, 25-21, 25-16 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Creamline hardly broke a sweat against its familiar foe. In fact, the team didn't even need to field in star spiker Alyssa Valdez.
But coach Sherwin Meneses assured that Valdez is fully healthy.
Mahaba kasi ang conference ngayon, napakaganda kung ‘yung playing time hati-hati,” said Meneses in the postgame press conference.
It was a risk that Meneses took. And it paid off. He noted that Valdez is still an important piece for the Cool Smashers, but not fielding her at times also allows other players to perform.
