"Mas madali dahil nga magkaka-age kami, so parang hindi ako nahihirapan makipag-bardagulan sa kanila..."
A new challenge beckons for rising star Ivy Lacsina after making her move to the Nxled Chameleons for the upcoming PVL season.
Aside from adjusting to a new system under coach Taka Minowa, Lacsina is also getting used to being with a younger core of players, after playing her first season with the highly-decorated veterans wt F2 Logistics.
However, being around same-aged peers actually has the 24-year-old Lacsina feeling that that part of the adjustment process is relatively on the easier side.
“Mas madali dahil nga magkaka-age kami, so parang hindi ako nahihirapan makipag-bardagulan sa kanila and hindi sila mahirap din pakisamahan,” said Lacsina, noting that as great as it was being as a Cargo Mover, it was undeniably more daunting to join a team full of winners at F2 Logistics.

In their debut PVL conference, the Chameleons made an impression and surprised many fans, winning four games in the Second All-Filipino Conference.
And while it will be wise to continue tempering expectations, the addition of a rising star in Lacsina means that Nxled has some big things in store for its first full PVL season.
That's not lost on Ivy, but the young Lacsina is also wise enough to know success takes time.
“Siguro 'yung expectation is hindi ko muna siya masyado tinataas,” she said. “Gusto ko i-enjoy muna 'yung first year ko dito and siyempre pag na-enjoy mo kasi mas hindi mo napapansin na nagiging okay laro mo.”
“Ang goal ko muna sa sarili ko is makapag-improve ako sa skills ko na makakatulong sa team ko,” Lacsina added.
