The Chery Tiggo Crossovers orchestrated a drubbing of Strong Group Athletics, 25-12, 25-17, 25-19, to grab an early lead in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday.

Coming off a straight-set rout of Capital1 on opening day, the Crossovers carried over that momentum and ran past SGA for a 2-0 winning start.

"Getting better every game, ‘yun naman hinahabol namin. Na-execute naman namin ‘yung mga magagandang plays kaya happy naman kahit papaano," Chery Tiggo head coach Kungfu Reyes said.

Mylene Paat scored a game-high 10 points to spearheaded a balanced offensive thrust that saw 12 Crossovers register in the scoresheet.

EJ Laure contributed nine markers, while Ces Robles and Cza Carandang supplemented seven points apiece.

Team captain Aby Maraño scored six as Joyme Cagande dished out 11 excellent sets.

Chery Tiggo was leading 22-14 in the decisive third frame when SGA knocked to within four at 19-23.

Ara Galang then restored order and put the Crossovers at match point before Dolly Versoza committed a fatal net touch to seal the deal.

SGA, which suffered a three-set romp in its league debut, dropped to a 0-2 record.

Verzosa, Sheeka Espinosa and Justine Rebleza paced the losing side with eight points each.

Chery Tiggo aims to preserve its unbeaten slate when it collides with Choco Mucho on March 2, Saturday, at 6 p.m.

SGA, on the other hand, attempts for a breakthrough when it faces Capital1 on March 5, Tuesday, at 4 p.m.

Both matches will be held at PhilSports Arena and will be aired on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
