Thea Gagate was the obvious choice for the first overall pick for the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles in the inaugural 2024 PVL Rookie Draft.

De La Salle University star and Alas Pilipinas starting middle blocker Thea Gagate has been selected as the first pick in the 2024 PVL Rookie Draft, held at Novotel Manila Araneta City Hotel in Cubao on Monday, July 8.
Gagate, a three-time Best Middle Blocker in the UAAP, took the honor of being the PVL's first-ever pick. She is now expected to help out the rebranded ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles in the upcoming PVL Reinforced Conference.
Since joining the PVL, the Thunderbelles, formerly known as Strong Group Athletics, have yet to win a game. However, the Jerry Yee-led squad now look to change all that with the addition of Gagate.
