Not once did Creamline superstar Jema Galanza’s faith in coach Sherwin Meneses and the Cool Smashers wavered.

Not even when the perennial powerhouse navigated perhaps their toughest season yet and found themselves knocking on PVL history.

“Tiwala naman po ako kay coach She [Meneses] kasi ‘yung sistema niya naman hindi nagbabago. For ilang years, ‘yun na po ‘yun,” Galanza reiterated after making her much-awaited comeback in Creamline’s latest win against the Farm Fresh Foxies.

Galanza finally suited up for the ladies in pink and played an efficient game, dropping 13 points in just two sets to provide a much-needed boost for the Creamline ahead of their gold medal game tomorrow, September 12.

And for the former Finals MVP, the adjustments Creamline made in her absence together with ace hitters Alyssa Valdez and Tots Carlos were little to minimal. She also gave praise to the likes of Bernadeth Pons, Michele Gumabao, and import Erica Staunton stepping up to the plate.

“For sure, hindi naman kailangan mag-adjust lahat in case may mawala,” Galanza said.

“‘Yung mga natira naman, magagaling na atleta naman sila. Sa kaniya-kaniyang school, sila po ‘yung nagdadala. Kailangan lang po is magkaroon lang ng connection and nagawa naman nila nung wala kami.”

Furthermore, Galanza shared what she can bring to the table for the Cool Smashers as history looms for the nine-time PVL champion tomorrow.

"Kapag kailangan ni coach [Sherwin], kailangan ready physically, mentally ready ako. ‘Yung lahat ng natutunan ko po sa Alas, ia-apply ko po," she said.

Overall, the 28-year-old was just happy to play once again for the Cool Smashers and bared that the whole squad will be tuning in to the Cignal-Kurashiki showdown, which will determine their Finals opponent.

“Happy po [ako] na nakabalik ako sa Creamline. Ngayon, kailangan lang muna naming magpahinga muna and mag-recover kasi walang time talaga [kami] para makapag-prepare. Papanoorin namin ‘yung game [na susunod]," Galanza said.
