After a stellar performance during the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference that saw her claim both the conference and Finals MVP honors, Bernadeth Pons is gearing up for another GV run with the Creamline Cool Smashers.

Pons came up big for a Creamline team that was hampered with injuries last conference, with Alyssa Valdez and Tots Carlos sitting out their campaign due to knee injuries.

But with the possibility of Valdez and Carlos returning for the new season, the question now is—who will start for the Cool Smashers?

Whether she's starting or coming off the bench, Pons made it clear that she’s prepared to deliver the same level of excellence that has become her trademark.

“I’m always ready naman. 100% ready lang talaga ako. Ang desisyon naman si coach na bahala dun eh, so nasa kanya kung paano niya papaikutin ‘yung tao basta ako, I’m always ready,” Pons told One Sports.

Despite her individual accolades, the double MVP award is far from the 27-year-old spiker’s focus.

“Actually hindi ko masyado din talaga iniisip ‘yung pagiging MVP. Basta masaya ako na nakuha namin ‘yung panalo nung last conference and sobrang inspired ako na mag-trabaho pa and mas ayusin pa,” said Pons.

Creamline, the most successful team in the PVL, is once again setting its sights on possibly another grand slam campaign.

Even with their success, Pons revealed that the team remains grounded and focused on the daily grind.

“Lagi naman kami nire-remind na kung nakuha man namin ‘yung goal sa mga past conferences namin tapos ‘yun. So ngayon, mag-start ulit kami ng bagong season, so every day namin tinatrabaho sa training,” Pons emphasized.

“Although hindi ganun kahaba ‘yung preparation pero kasi naka-mindset kami na mag-trabaho ulit kasi tapos na ‘yun eh, kumbaga gagawa ulit kami and tatrabuhuin ulit namin,” she added.
