Sisi Rondina and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans hope to turn things around after suffering their second-straight defeat in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Sisi Rondina and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans came up short against the Creamline Cool Smashers during their first encounter in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Coming close multiple times, the Flying Titans failed to pounce on the Cool Smashers’ errors, falling in four sets, 22-25, 20-25, 32-30, 20-25, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Tuesday, December 3.
Rondina did all she could for Choco Mucho after putting up 24 points and 11 excellent receptions.
Despite the defeat, the superstar spiker lauded her team’s effort against the defending champions.
“Siyempre [ico-commend] ko pa rin ‘yung team namin kasi hindi namin binigay nang madali. Siyempre nilaban. Sabi nga ni coach [Dante Alinsunurin] kanina, nagpapasalamat siya kasi ang dami niyang nakikitang improvements kahit papaano. And personally naman, masaya ako kasi nakakabalik na rin paunti-unti,” Rondina told reporters after the match.

However, the loss doesn’t get any easier for Choco Mucho, who only won once against Creamline in their 17 encounters.
The only win came during the 2024 All-Filipino Conference, when the Flying Titans escaped with a five-set victory.
But now, it’s back to the drawing board for Rondina and the rest of her Choco Mucho squad.
“We know Creamline naman kung paano sila maglaro and kung paano nila ginagalaw ‘yung laro nila,” said Rondina.
“Syempre kami, alam namin kung ano ‘yung weakness namin. Alam namin kung ano ‘yung pagkukulang namin, and aminado naman kami do'n na marami talaga kaming lapses [kaya] yun, itatrabaho namin ‘yun.”
The Flying Titans are now eighth in the standings with a 2-3 record after back-to-back losses.
But with a long season ahead, Rondina is confident that her team can turn things around.
“Tatrabahuhin pa rin namin, bilog ‘yung bola,” Rondina emphasized. “Ang dami talagang nagi-improve na teams and lumalakas talaga ‘yung mga teams ngayon.”
“Kami rin, aayusin namin ‘yung mga dapat naming ayusin and mga personal skills namin kung saan kami kailangan mag-trabaho,” she added.
Choco Mucho will look to end the year on a positive note as they face the Farm Fresh Foxies on December 12 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
