Alyssa Bertolano's all-around outing pushed the Farm Fresh Foxies past the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles for back-to-back wins in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Farm Fresh Foxies received major contributions from Alyssa Bertolano in their four-set win over the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, 26-24, 13-25, 25-21, 25-19, in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao on Thursday, December 5.
Bertolano had a triple-double of 12 points, 12 excellent digs, and 12 excellent receptions, showing off her strong floor defense for the Foxies en route to back-to-back victories.
“‘Yung mindset ko is pumasa since ‘yun ‘yung puhunan ko na makakatulong talaga sa team tapos hindi lang ako ‘yung makakapalo—may middle and especially si Tubu,” Bertolano told One Sports.
“Tapos tiwala sa sarili, tiwala sa teammates, tapos nagtulungan lang kami sa court kaya nakuha namin ‘yung panalo,” she added.
The Foxies are still without its new signings and stars in Rachel Anne Daquis, Jolina Dela Cruz, and Lorene Toring.
That’s why the former UP Fighting Maroons standout is looking to contribute in any way she can for Farm Fresh.
“Siguro magiging consistent lang ako sa pasa since, for me, dun talaga nagsisimula lahat sa pasa. Kasi ‘yung palo, nandiyan lang ‘yan eh. Tapos i-work ko pa siguro blockings ko and service,” said Bertolano.
11 players from the Foxies scored at least a point in the match with Trisha Tubu leading the way with a game-high 28 points on 27 attacks and one block.
Farm Fresh will look to close out the year on a strong note as they face the Choco Mucho Flying Titans on December 12 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
Thea Gagate finished with 16 points for ZUS Coffee, while Jovelyn Gonzaga and Chinnie Arroyo had 10 markers each.
ZUS Coffee aims to pull off the upset against the defending champions Creamline Cool Smashers on December 12 as well.
