The Choco Mucho Flying Titans have been dealt a significant blow as star opposite hitter Kat Tolentino was hospitalized on January 20, 2025, due to severe abdominal pains.

The team released an official statement confirming that Tolentino, who is also dealing with an auditory issue, was diagnosed with a ruptured appendix and had to undergo emergency surgery later that afternoon.

Despite the setback, the Flying Titans remain optimistic about Tolentino's recovery. In their statement, they called on fans to pray for her quick and full recovery, emphasizing their unwavering support.

In response to the news, an outpouring of support flooded social media, with fans sending messages of encouragement to the Choco Mucho star.

Tolentino recently played during the Flying Titans’ five-set victory over the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, 20-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-9, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Saturday, January 18. She contributed three points in the reverse sweep.

Tolentino is currently 10th among the PVL All-Filipino's best scorers with 79 points.

Her absence presents a challenge for the Flying Titans, but they remain focused on their campaign with the belief that their star player will soon be back in peak form.

Choco Mucho will be back on Thursday, January 23 as they face the PLDT High Speed Hitters.
