Alyssa Valdez and the Creamline Cool Smashers have set themselves up for another possible sweep of the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Creamline Cool Smashers are on track for another undefeated PVL All-Filipino Conference run.
Fresh off their sweep of the Capital1 Solar Spikers, the reigning Grand Slam champions moved to 5-0 in the standings, yet to be beaten so far in the extended conference.
Coming off a long break, team captain Alyssa Valdez, who poured in seven points in the win, is proud of how her teammates stepped up and delivered to secure another win for the Creamline family.
“It’s a huge confidence booster for all of us kasi knowing everyone would deliver and step up every single game, every situation na binibigay sa amin,” Valdez said during the post-game press conference.
“I guess to be in this kind of family also, makikita mo na we’re just pulling each other up no matter what,” she added.

The last time the Cool Smashers completed a proper conference sweep was during the 2023 PVL Second All-Filipino Conference.
A lot has changed since then. Teams have gotten stronger and new tactics have emerged, but still standing at the mountaintop is Creamline.
The secret behind their success? Valdez pointed it toward coach Sherwin Meneses and his coaching staff.
“I would say it’s really the mind of our coaches. The strategy, the technical side na ginagawa nila. Hindi man namin totally nakikita or naiintindihan ‘yun, but I think it’s the trust we have sa coaches namin, sa kahit anong sitwasyon na ginagawa nila and nilalagay nila sa court yun yung paniniwalaan namin that’s why it’s been working,” Valdez explained
“In these crucial times talaga most definitely long tournament, we just have to believe in the system and our coaches and syempre hard work ng mga teammates,” she added.

Given the Cool Smashers’ depth, along with Meneses’ championship-winning tactics, Creamline has indeed set themselves up for another go at an 11th PVL title.
“I think it’s a good, good sense of family and teamwork yung nangyayari most especially this conference kasi yung paikot talaga ni coach Sherwin knowing na kung ano yung mas makakatulong at mas effective na strategy in that specific game,” said Valdez.
The Cool Smashers will go for their sixth straight win as they take on the winless Nxled Chameleons on Tuesday, January 28 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
