Momentum is on the side of Ivy Lacsina and the Akari Chargers after securing back-to-back wins and their first sweep in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Ivy Lacsina made sure to secure Akari’s first straight-set victory in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference after powering past Capital1, 25-9, 25-17, 26-24, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Saturday, Feb. 1.
The 24-year-old outside hitter finished with a game-high 15 points, all of which came as attacks.
“Ang naging motivation ko is siyempre ‘yung teammates ko, sila coach ganyan, kasi parang ‘yun nga may mga na-injure samin na teammates, and kami ‘yung nandito kaya every game gugustuhin namin manalo,” Lacsina said during the post-game press conference.
Jumping to fifth place with a 5-4 record, the Chargers had struggled to close out matches, leading to either four or five-set victories.
But against the Solar Spikers, Lacsina decided enough was enough as she put the team her backs to fend off the young Capital1’s comeback attempt.
“More on doon sa kagustuhan manalo nung third set, and ‘yung fighting spirit talaga. Tulad nga nung sinasabi ni coach [Taka Minowa] na hindi pwede na lagi namin [sasabihin] na bata kami, maging matured kami kahit na young teams,” said Lacsina.

Now with back-to-back wins, Akari will look to close out the preliminary round on a strong note with two remaining games left.
“For sure naman, maganda ‘tong boost sa moral namin ‘yung game na ‘to, lalo na sa mga next games namin mabibigat na mga teams, kaya kailangan pa naming doblehin at triplehin ‘yung magiging trabaho namin ulit versus doon sa mga naging games namin,” Lacsina explained.
