Not this time, says Cignal.

The HD Spikers redeemed themselves following a previous shock defeat as it thumped Capital1, 25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 25-15, to open their 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference play-in campaign on a high Thursday, March 6, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

After bowing to Galeries Tower a week ago in four sets, Cignal took to heart the lessons it learned, making sure it would rise from a second-set stumble to complete the victory in Pool A.

The survivor in that group will earn the right to face Brooke Van Sickle and the rest of the second-ranked Petro Gazz in a best-of-three quarterfinal round.

Team captain Dawn Macandili-Catindig earned Player of the Game honors with her 18 excellent digs and seven excellent receptions.

Up next for the HD Spikers is Zus Coffee whom they will face on Tuesday, March 11, at the same venue.

Meanwhile, the Solar Spikers will also tangle with the Thunderbelles two days later.
