Whether playing or not, Royse Tubino stays ready for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans as she helped the team overcome a tough stand from the Nxled Chameleons in the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Trailing in the fourth set, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans needed a spark off the bench against the Nxled Chameleons—and veteran spiker Royse Tubino did just that.
Tubino rallied the Flying Titans to a huge run to secure the frame and force a fifth set, where she also delivered early points for the team.
Choco Mucho would go on to outlast Nxled and secure its fifth straight win in the All-Filipino Conference, 25-21, 23-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-10, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Thursday, February 13.
Tubino finished with seven markers, all of which came in the final two sets.
“Siguro never say die kasi hindi pa naman tapos ‘yung laban so kailangan pa namin trumabaho para makuha namin ‘yung set kasi hindi pa tapos eh, so may chance pa kami manalo,” Tubino said during the post-game press conference.
“Lagi sinasabi samin na hindi pa tapos so kailangan pa lumaban para makuha namin ‘yung manalo, kailangan namin mag-trabaho,” she added.
The 32-year-old spiker hadn’t seen much minutes in the conference prior to their five-set escape. But for Tubino, it’s all about giving her all to help the team find a way to secure the victory.
“Always naman ako ready kung ipasok ni coach [Dante Alinsunurin]. So, kailangan ko mag-deliver as a senior, kailangan ko tulungnan ‘yung team talaga,” Tubino emphasized.
“Si coach naman, kilala niya ‘yung mga players niya, so whether pumasok ako or hindi, always ready ako para sa team. So, mag-dedeliver at mag-dedeliver talaga ako sa performance ko,” she added.
