Eya Laure will always be a Queen Tigress for those in España Boulevard.
The UST Golden Tigresses failed to get the trophy in UAAP Season 85 women's volleyball. But for Eya Laure, the sea of yellow that shows up in every game is worth the weight in gold.
She hopes that sea of yellow continues to show up for the next batch of Golden Tigresses.
Laure shared what she told fellow Tigress Imee Hernandez on One Sports' The Game, as they looked back on their last UAAP season and were eliminated in the Final Four.
"Kung sa [De La Salle Lady Spikers] 'yung championship, sa atin 'yung sea of yellow. 'Yun 'yung medal natin," Laure said.
"Sa mga susunod na generation, sana 'yung sea of yellow mag-show up pa rin kahit anong mangyari," she added.
Laure, a consistent top scorer and MVP contender in Season 85, expressed her gratitude to the UST community as she penned her farewell letter a week ago.
"Salamat UST. 'Yun ang salita na lagi lalabas sa bibig ko simula ng pagtapak ko sa school na 'to hanggang sa moment na I have to say goodbye sa school na sinamahan ako at hindi din ako sinukuan kahit anong mangyari. Kung hindi dahil sa inyo hindi ko siguro maabot ang mga pangarap ko," she wrote on Instagram.
"To the UST Community, salamat at pinakita niyo ulit sa amin ang Sea of Yellow. Walang makakapantay na suporta ang pinakita niyo at lakas ng mga sigaw niyo. Thank you kasi bumalik kayo at nagtiwala sa team. Sobrang mami-miss ko marinig ang 'Go USTe!' habang naglalaro. Kasama niyo na ako ngayon."
On Thursday night, the former UST kapitana called for the sea of yellow to appear for the Golden Tigresses once again in Season 86 onwards.
"Sa next generations, na kung ano man yung nasimulan at naipakita namin kung paano ipaglaban yung school, I know maipapakita nila yun sa susunod na UAAP seasons."
