Kevin Quiambao tipped his hat to the OGs of the De La Salle Green Archers after winning the title in UAAP Season 86. He sure knows his history and the value of having legends pave the way for him and the current stars of the squad.
In particular, he credited Mac Cardona for motivating him to push harder in the best-of-three finals after dropping Game 1 to the UP Fighting Maroons.
On Sunday, KQ revealed another La Salle legend who helped him become arguably the best college player in the country right now.
On his Instagram Story, Quiambao reposted a photo of Jeron Teng's Green Archers jersey he took in 2013.
"I used to be a fan of yours, Jeron Teng," wrote the MVP.
We're assuming he just had a grammatical gaffe with "used to." Because for sure, KQ still looks up to Teng until now.
It was in 2013 when Teng truly cemented his place in La Salle lore when he led the squad to the title in an epic three-game series against the UST Growling Tigers and won Finals MVP in the process.
Quite the similarity with Quiambao.
They were both named Rookie of the Year as well.
Teng, who now plays for the San Miguel Beermen, went on to capture another title and another Finals MVP in 2016. While he never won as season MVP like Quiambao, he was a four-time Mythical Five member and arguably the best small forward in Green Archers history.

Here's a question: Who would win in a one-on-one game between Quiambao and Teng?
