The Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws secured the top seed and twice-to-beat advantage in the UAAP Season 86 men's volleyball after defeating the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons in straight sets on Saturday.
Ariel Cacao, the team's setter, played a crucial role in the win with 13 excellent sets.
This marks the first time since Season 74 that FEU clinched the top spot after the elimination round.
Scoring was well-distributed among FEU's players, with nearly all 12 position players contributing points. Andrei Delicana led the Tamaraws with 11 points, while Dryx Saavedra chipped in eight.
