De La Salle University is set to represent the Philippines in the 2024 World University Basketball Series (WUBS), slated for August 10 to 12 in Tokyo, Japan.

Initially, Ateneo de Manila University represented the nation in the tournament's first two editions, showcasing the continent's top collegiate teams.

After winning the title in 2022, the Blue Eagles finished in fourth place last year.

This time around it will be the Green Archers, who emerged victorious in a thrilling three-game Finals series against the UP Fighting Maroons in UAAP Season 86, who will look to bring home the title from the Japan-based tournament.

To gear up for their UAAP title defense, the Green Archers have been actively involved in the Pinoyliga, the PBA D-League, and will also compete in the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup.

Kevin Quiambao and Mike Phillips are once again expected spearhead La Salle, backed by a talented roster including Jonnel Policarpio, Joshua David, CJ Austria, Henry Agunanne, Raven Cortez, among others.

This overseas journey should serve as the pinnacle of La Salle's preparations for defending its UAAP championship before Season 87 opens later this year.

Aside from DLSU, other top nations in Asia have confirmed their participation, which include Taiwan’s National Chengchi University, Japan’s Hakuoh University, Korea’s Korea University, and Indonesia’s Perbanas Institute.

Three more teams are expected to join the tournament.
