The FEU Tamaraws are hitting their stride in UAAP Season 87 as they seized their first win streak, winning back-to-back games after beating the NU Bulldogs, 65-58, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Wednesday.

Jorick Bautista proved to be the clutch provider for the Tamaraws as he drilled the dagger three to push the lead to six, 64-58, with 10 seconds left on the clock and bury the Bulldogs.

But the Tamaraws, who have now won three of their last four matches for a 3-6 record for the year, also leaned on Royce Alforque’s back-to-back baskets to give FEU a five-point advantage, 61-56, with 1:19 ticks remaining.

Still, it was Mo Konateh who flexed his might on an all-Filipino NU lineup as he finished with 22 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, and two blocks.

Bautista had 17 markers, four rebounds, and a steal. Alforque, for his part, finished with nine points, seven boards, two assists, and one steal.

Ian Manansala paced NU in the loss with 11 points, four rebounds and one assist.

NU skids to last place with their second loss in a row and are now 2-7 in the standings.
