De La Salle has won three of the last four meetings against UST. Can the Green Spikers continue to have the Golden Spikers’ number in UAAP Season 87?
Animo times two?
La Salle seeks their first winning streak this UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball tournament when the Green Spikers tangle with the UST Golden Spikers on Wednesday, February 26 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Yoyong Mendoza and Co. vented ire on the Adamson Soaring Falcons via sweep, barging into the winning column after a season-opening loss against the defending champion NU Bulldogs.
Noel Kampton was firing on all cylinders in that game, dropping a team-high 24 points on top of eight excellent receptions and seven excellent digs to lead DLSU.
Mendoza contributed 13 markers, while Michael Fortuna chipped in 10 more for the Green Spikers first straight-set victory of Season 87.
“Yun ‘yung naging basis namin, ‘yung first game. Kung ano ‘yung kulang na hindi namin nagawa during the first game, ‘yun ang tinrabaho namin. I think even the teams noticed that so somehow nag-agree lang kaming lahat na kailangan namin bumawi,” La Salle head coach Jose Roque said.
Against a Josh Ybañez-less UST side, the Green Spikers are not taking things lightly as the Golden Spikers are also coming off a bounce-back win.
Match time is at 9:00 a.m.
