The FEU Lady Tamaraws pulled away in the fourth set to move on the cusp of a Final Four appearance in UAAP Season 87, winning over the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 25-13, in their second round encounter at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Wednesday.

Three FEU players finished in double-digit scoring--led by Gerz Petallo with a triple-double effort of 13 points, 12 excellent digs, and 14 excellent receptions.

Faida Bakanke continued to lead the charge for the Lady Tamaraws with 19 points. Player of the Game Chenie Tagaod nabbed Player of the Game honors with 12 points and 13 excellent receptions.

Despite Ateneo showing fight in Set 2, it was all FEU in Set 4 when they doubled up on their foes, 22-11, in the close out.

The Blue Eagles then struggled with their errors to doom their Final Four hopes.

FEU moves to 8-4 and will only need one more win to ensure their spot in the semis. They are winners of back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Ateneo, at 4-8, can no longer compete for the Top 4 this season.

AC Miner, who powered the Blue Eagles in their Set 2 victory, paced Ateneo in scoring with 17 markers.
