A legend arrives for Smart Omega.
Carlito "Ribo" Jr. wants to make a point in his return to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitive scene: that he still has what it takes to record a killing spree.
"Papatunayan ko sa kanila na 'di porke't na matagal na sa MLBB pro scene, hindi na makakasabay sa mga bata," Ribo said in a video posted by MPL Philippines.
The 28-year-old midlaner is the biggest name signed up by Smart Omega for Season 12 of the competition.
He was the Grand Finals MVP for Aether Main in Season 1 before picking up MPL and the Nationals championships with Bren. He was also part of the squad's roster when it won the M2 World Championship.
Ribo was also an inductee to the MPL Philippines Hall of Legends.
He will join a star-studded cast, which will also feature the comebacking Patrick James "E2MAX" Caidic and Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog returning as roamer.
In Season 11, then-Omega Esports finished the regular season at sixth place with a 6-8 record. The squad was quickly eliminated in the play-ins after getting swept by Blacklist International. With Ribo back in tow, the team will be looking to improve on its less-than-stellar showing from last season.
Expect the MPL Philippines Hall of Legends inductee to lead the way—or at least play a big part in turning the team's fortunes around.
