Aurora Gaming failed to make it to the knockout stage of the M6 World Championship after losing to Team Liquid Indonesia, 0-2, in round 4 of the Swiss Stage in Kuala Lumpur.

The Filipino squad was on the back foot from the first game as TLID’s duo of Sultan "AeronnShikii" Muhammad and Yehezkiel "Yehezkiel" Wiseman combined for 14 kills to end the game in just over 16 minutes.

The second game saw a much closer match between the two squads as Jonard "Demonkite" Caranto and Jan "Domeng" Delmundo tried to keep Aurora alive. But in the end, Team Liquid simply had too much firepower led by Favian "Faviannn" Putra and AeronnShikii.

This is the first time since the M1 World Championship that only one Filipino team will make it to the knockout stage.

Aurora Gaming, the runner-up of MPL Philippines Season 14, had shone bright during the local league when they beat former M-series titleholders Blacklist International and Falcons AP.Bren to clinch their ticket to Malaysia.

But the Northern Lights squad, made up of M-series veterans such as Edward, Yue, and Renejay, could not find their momentum in M6--as they lost the first two best-of-one rounds of the Swiss Stage

AeronnShikii was named the MVP of the series with 90.5K damage dealt, along with a 9/0/5 KDA.

Team Liquid will need to win one more series before advancing to the knockout stage.
