The future remains bright for Aurora Gaming even after their early exit in the M6 World Championship on Wednesday night.

Head coach Aniel "Master the Basics" Jiandani expressed his confidence in his team after their 0-2 loss to Team Liquid Indonesia (TLID) in the Swiss Stage round 4 in Kuala Lumpur.

“We really prepared for this match and I think all my players really gave their best. So right now, I don't think there's something we need to change in order to reverse this fight,” Jiandani said during the post-game press conference.

“I think Liquid is really just a better team right now.”

Aurora was formed just last July but managed to exceed expectations by securing a spot in the World Championship in Malaysia.

That’s why for coach Jiandani, it’s all about improving as a unit in their next tournaments.

“One of the things that we are really looking forward to is the next tournaments because one of the things that we talk about, or even before we joined Aurora, is we won't be separating or we won't find any new members or reduce a member for just one tournament,” said Jiandani.

“Basically, we'll stick with this lineup until our next tournaments.”

Aurora’s M6 campaign was marked by flashes of brilliance but ultimately fell short, as they were at the losing end of the first two best-of-one rounds in the Swiss stage.

The Filipinos were then forced to fight for survival in a best-of-three Round 3 against Turkiye's ULFHEDNAR, before facing MPL Indonesia champion Team Liquid ID in Round 4.

Team Liquid's Sultan "AeronnShikii" Muhammad and Yehezkiel "Yehezkiel" Wiseman dominated in the first game before Favian "Faviannn" Putra led the charge in the second.

Reflecting on the match, Jiandani pointed to pivotal moments where TLID capitalized on Aurora's errors.

“I think the turning point was when they were able to take advantage of our mistakes on those two games,” said Jiandani.

“The first game, I think it was on the red buff and on the second game, I think it was on the second tower on the bottom side when they were able to teleport using Luo Yi,” he explained.

Aurora will head back home where they will look to build on this experience in the upcoming local and international MLBB tournaments to come.
