It’s been a while since Poy Erram last saw action on the basketball court.

The TNT Tropang Giga big man has been out with a knee injury that has kept him from joining Gilas Pilipinas’ training sessions in the country and abroad.

Erram was supposedly part of Gilas’ trip to China for their pocket tournament, however, the 6-foot-8 center missed the trip due to his injury.

In an Instagram story, Erram posted a video of him stretching his knee at a physical therapy table, where doctors are likely continuing their assessment of the 34-year-old center.

Knee issues have been a recurring problem for Erram ever since his college days with the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

Erram was among the absentees in Gilas’ closed-door practice at the Philsports Arena on Wednesday.

While it’s more than likely that Erram will miss out on the FIBA World Cup, what matters for him is the full recovery of his knee.

In his stints with Gilas during the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup and FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers, Erram averaged 3.9 points and 2.1 rebounds as a backup big for the national team.

Erram and the Tropang Giga will be hoping that he can get back on the court just in time for the new PBA season set on October.
