Camille Clarin was an emotional wreck, walking gingerly as she approached her Gilas Pilipinas Women teammates on Sunday, March 30.

The group shared the tightest of hugs moments after they pulled off a come-from-behind 19-15 win over world no. 12 Mongolia in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2025 quarterfinals in Singapore.

Fatigue set in early for the trio of Jhazmin Joson, Mikka Cacho, and Kaye Pingol as the Mongolians zoomed to a 10-3 lead behind a pair of two-pointers from Khulan Onolbaatar.

But the Filipina cagers refused to just roll over and die and instead rallied behind Clarin, who didn’t see action after suffering a knee injury on Saturday, March 29.

Mongolia’s slow pace allowed Gilas to regain steam and slowly chip away at the deficit.

Before they knew it, the scores were already tied at 12-all after four free throws by Cacho with 3:09 remaining.

11 seconds later, Joson would sink a booming two that gave Gilas the 14-12 lead and control of the game that initially seemed not theirs to win.

It was all Gilas from there.

But things are only going to get tougher as Gilas Women figure in the semifinals against Japan later today.
