Yulo secured the gold after a flawless routine in parallel bars at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Tokyo Olympian's complex routine impressed the judges, earning him a score of 15.400 points, surpassing the favored Illia Kovtun from Ukraine, who received the silver medal with a score of 15.366.
Bernard Cameron-Lie from France, meanwhile, claimed the bronze with a score of 14.600.
Yulo's victory was particularly sweet, having won the silver medal at the Doha leg of the series the previous week. Prior to that, Yulo secured the bronze in the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Cottbus, Germany.
The 23-year-old will look to bring home more medals after securing a spot in the vault final in Baku after placing second in the qualifiers with a 14.916 average.
Yulo is also set to compete in the rings final after finishing fifth during the qualifications.
