Maybe the other districts will follow suit and replicate this wonderful project.
As a setter, Michelle Cobb is tasked to make the right decisions on the volleyball court. She has been doing a pretty good job at that, carving a memorable De La Salle Lady Spikers career in college and now showcasing her talents for the Akari Chargers in the pro level. In her personal life, it appears like she has been making the right decisions as well.
Cobb is currently dating Quezon City 6th District councilor Vito Sotto Generoso who has started a project that the latter’s constituents can be proud of. On Saturday, the councilman’s social media pages thanked the people that worked hard to help launch a football grassroots program that catered to kids aged 14 and below.
“Isang mainit na pasasalamat sa lahat ng sumusuporta sa ating programa para sa mga batang edad 14 pababa, lalo na sa mga magulang at pamunuan ng Cypress Village,” Sotto’s official Facebook page posted.
Cobb’s beau comes from a family of entertainers and politicians. He is a grandchild of actor and former senate president Tito Sotto. Perhaps the young politician already has a firm grasp of the important role sports programs play, especially within the youth sector.
“Ipinakita natin ang halaga ng pagkakaroon ng makabuluhang aktibidad na hindi lang nagpapalakas ng katawan, kundi nagpapaunlad din ng disiplina at teamwork,” the post read.
Thanks to the history-making Filipinas and the noise they made in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, football has never been more popular in the Philippines. Now that the fire his been lit, it’s up to the people in position to keep the flame burning. Kudos to Councilor Vito for stepping up and doing his part.
