Big appetite for the big kid?
Everyone deserves to relax, especially if you’re a seven-foot basketball player who’s been on the grind in the past several months.
Filipino center Kai Sotto is that guy, albeit he’s 7-foot-3 to be exact. He’s been with the Orlando Magic in the NBA Summer League. He’s been with Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA World Cup. And in a couple of days, he’ll be suiting up for the Hiroshima Dragonflies in the new Japan B.League season.
But before the league tips off, Sotto found time to unwind and de-stress by touring around picturesque Hiroshima. On Monday, he took to Instagram to share a few highlights from his relaxing jaunt.
Here he is enjoying the beautiful scenery around Mt. Misen.
Of course, going around Japan would be criminally incomplete without going on a food trip. Luckily, Kai found it in his heart to finally reveal a secret everyone’s been dying to know: What does a seven-footer’s meal look like?
Well, here it is: A salad, a bunch of fried protein, a bowl of rice, miso soup, and a couple of palate-cleansers for sides.
Surprisingly, it wasn't as much as we thought.
His Hiroshima excursion wasn’t a one-man adventure though. He maximized the fun experience by letting his old man Ervin Sotto tag along.
It’s safe to say that the Sottos turned heads while they were together. After all, it’s not often you see a 7-foot-3 kid walking side by side with his 6-foot-7 dad. The important thing is no complaints were filed for getting their views obstructed by the towering father-and-son tandem.
