Thirdy Ravena is having another season so far with San-en NeoPhoenix in the Japan B.League.
In 11 games, the do-it-all Filipino import is putting up all-around averages of 13.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 steals, helping his squad to a 12-2 record, tied for first place in the Central Conference.
Unfortunately, Ravena has sat out their last three games, including their latest win on Sunday, due to a concussion. Still, it looks like he’s truly found the right cadence to his game after having his fair share of erratic outings in the past.
It’s not a random coincidence. Or so it seems, at least.
Because it looks like Ravena is extra inspired these days.
Yinchi Dai, a food and lifestyle vlogger from China, posted a series of snaps on Instagram two days ago about her recent trip to Japan. Curiously, Ravena was included in two of them. She also captioned it: “Happy place.”
Of course, she could be simply referring to Japan, as it’s definitely a beautiful country (right, Scottie Thompson?). But it’s also not entirely outlandish to think that she enjoyed her “happy place” even more after hanging out with Ravena.
To be clear, we’re purely speculating here (sorry, it's a slow news day). But the Instagram Story of the 26-year-old former Ateneo Blue Eagles star on Monday seemingly helps our case.
To counter the great poet Mark Lapid, hindi lang saging ang may puso.

It’s premature to tell if Ravena's friendship with Yinchi, who appears to be based in New York, will grow into something bigger. But for sure, it’s nice to see him feeling happy. His injury probably doesn’t hurt too much, right?
Ravena has extra days to recover and perhaps spend more time with Yinchi in her “happy place,” as San-en NeoPhoenix won’t see action again until December 2.
