Appreciate greatness while you can. That statement is most applicable to LeBron James’ haters, who until now refuse to recognize The King.

On Sunday, at 39 years old, LBJ was named the first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament MVP after the Los Angeles Lakers won the inaugural title. He averaged 26.4 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists while shooting 56.8% from the field and 60.6% on triples. Those spectacular numbers of LeBron catapulted the Lakers to an immaculate 7-0 record.

But of course, the naysayers will intentionally look the other way.

Filipino hoops superstar Kai Sotto, however, is not among the blind.

In fact, the 7-foot-3 center went on Instagram to fully appreciate LeBron’s latest coronation. On his Instagram Story, Sotto uploaded the awarding ceremony, which saw the Lakers main man lift the MVP trophy. For good measure, Kaiju added a goat emoji.

Whether or not you’re a LeBron fan, you have to admit that he is really good at basketball. Numbers don’t lie. He’s been dominating the game for more than two decades now. Many say he already superseded Michael Jordan as the GOAT.  But of course, MJ stans will never agree.

With that being said, Kai, who plays for the Hiroshima Dragonflies in the Japan B.League, definitely knows his hoops and he isn’t shying away from giving the NBA’s all-time scoring leader his flowers.

Like LeBron, Sotto also has his fair share of bashers. “Hindi ka pang NBA” has been the usual remark hurled at the young big man. Aside from admiring LeBron’s game, perhaps the 21-year-old also finds inspiration in how the 21-year NBA veteran has been handling criticisms with tremendous class.
