Kai Sotto's double-doubles are starting to pile up with the Yokohama B-Corsairs in the B.League first division.
It’s a longshot but Yokohama appears to be making a final wildcard push for the 2024 B.League playoffs.
Behind the budding tandem of reigning MVP Yuku Kawamura and Kai Sotto, the B-Corsairs have won three straight after an 84-69 win over the Toyama Grouses Wednesday.
The win has Yokohama at 20-23, and while the B-Corsairs have their work cut out for them, they are 4.5 games back from a wildcard slot with 17 games remaining.
Sotto has been on a tear since mid-February and is still going strong. The 7’3” Filipino center delivered another double-double for Yokohama, going for 16 points and a new career-high 14 rebounds.
Kai also had two assists and two blocks for good measure. It’s Sotto’s third-straight double-double and sixth in his last seven games.
Kawamura, meanwhile, fired 21 points and 10 assists for double-double of his own. Four of his dimes were to Kai.
