After five rounds in the 2024-25 B.LEAGUE season, a pair of Gilas Pilipinas standouts lead Japan’s top basketball division in blocks.

AJ Edu and Kai Sotto are strutting their stuff when it comes to rim protection in Japan, leading the B.LEAGUE in blocks per game.

Suiting up for the Nagasaki Velca, Edu tops the whole league with 1.7 blocks per outing.

The highlight of the season so far for Edu was a six-block outing in a win over Osaka, marking a career-high for the second-year forward.

The six blocks by Edu for a single game are also just two shy of the all-time B1 record. Jordan Heath holds the distinction with eight.

AJ has 15 total blocks so far this season, which also lead the B.LEAGUE.

Meanwhile, Sotto is tied for second with three others, averaging 1.4 blocks per game with the Koshigaya Alphas.

Kai’s highest mark for a single so far this season is four blocks, tying his career-high. Sotto recorded four blocks in back-to-back games against Akita and Sendai last week.
