Back on the winning track, the DLSU Green Spikers are determined to push their Final Four drive.

The Taft-based squad gun for a second straight win in a UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball second round showdown with the winless UE Red Warriors Saturday, April 5, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City.

Game time is at 11:00 a.m.

Noel Kampton celebrated his 25th birthday in the biggest way possible, unleashing a 27-point rampage that anchored DLSU’s five-set marathon win over rivals Ateneo Blue Eagles in their last outing.

That game saw a grueling 36-minute fifth set that ended in favor of the Green Archers over the Blue Eagles, 27-25.

“Actually, it’s not about the skills; it’s more on kung paano nila ilaban 'yung sarili nila sa fifth set. Skills is evident, nandoon na sa kanila ‘eh. Ang hinanap ko kanina, kung paano nila ilalaban 'yung game na ito. Napakita nila ‘yon nung fifth set,” La Salle head coach Jose Roque told reporters in the post-game press conference.

Vince Maglinao contributed 22 markers while Rui Ventura, JJ Rodriguez, and Nath del Pilar added a combined 24-points output.

DLSU’s win forced a three-team log jammed from the no. 3-5 spots with the Green Archers, Blue Eagles, and UST Golden Spikers all parading identical 6-4 records.

It also marked the Taft-based squad’s fourth straight victory over Ateneo, dating back to their first-round meeting in Season 86.
