Celine Dion is set to make her first live public performance in years alongside a fellow global icon in Lady Gaga in the first ever Olympic Opening Ceremony to be staged outside a stadium.
The Olympics Games Paris 2024 is just around the corner, with some big names drawing attention to the Opening Ceremony which will take place at 1:25 a.m. on July 27 (PH time).
And two of the world's most decorated musical icons are about to take part in a much-anticipated duet.
Global icons Celine Dion and Lady Gaga are reportedly in line to perform for Paris 2024 with French journalist Thierry Moreau confirming on X, formerly Twitter, that both Dion and Gaga rehearsed a duet version of Edith Piaf's "La Vie en Rose.”
The Canadian singer even posted a photo of herself at The Louvre a couple of days ago, confirming even more reports that they’re due to take the stage.
Should Dion perform at the event, it would mark her first live public performance since revealing her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022, a rare health condition that “makes the muscles in the torso and limbs alternate between spasming and being rigid."
She made her first major public appearance at the Grammy Awards earlier this year, presenting Album of the Year to multi-awarded singer-songwriter Taylor Swift — the latter's record-breaking fourth win.
Paris 2024 will not be Dion’s first Olympics stint however as she performed “The Power of the Dream'' at 1996 Atlanta Olympics Opening Ceremony.
Gaga, meanwhile, was seen arriving in her hotel in Paris this week and even took time giving autographs to her fans.
It will be the Grammy and Oscar-winning performer's first-ever performance in an Olympic stage, and doing it alongside a fellow music icon is shaping up to be a star-studded event.
The Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony will be held at the River Seine and at the famous Eiffel Tower.
