Slowly but surely, Raul Soyud is regaining his old form and more. Coming off an injury in the PBA Governors’ Cup, Soyud has been solid for the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters in the ongoing PBA on Tour.

And it’s none more evident than his outstanding performance in the 100-93 win over Meralco Bolts on Sunday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The hardworking big man put up probably his best game in a Phoenix uniform: 25 points on 11-of-12 shooting from the field, 13 rebounds, and a block in over 25 minutes of play.

Take note: Last conference, he was only averaging 2.5 points and 2.4 rebounds.

After the match, Phoenix coach Jamike Jarin shared his optimism with the former UP Fighting Maroon, who finished with 10 points and the same number of rebounds in the 106-101 win over San Miguel Beermen.

“Unfortunately he was injured in the last conference, that’s why this will help him get his confidence back his rhythm. He’s getting there,” Jarin said.

“Hopefully he’s gonna be injury-free and he’s gonna make some noise coming into the real conference.”

At the rate things are going, it seems that Soyud will indeed turn heads when the regular season unfurls.

The only stain in his spectacular outing was the flagrant foul penalty 1 he incurred after a fighting stance gesture against Raymar Jose in a rebound play with 8.9 ticks remaining.

It appeared all is well between the two, though, as they were seen hugging and sharing some laughter during the post-game handshake.
