The PBA is looking to ensure proper officiating of games.
The PBA has decided to bring back a familiar rule that could help the league ensure proper officiating of games.
During the league’s press conference on Tuesday, TV5 President Guido Zaballero, who had announced the PBA and TV5’s decision to air the games on the free-to-air channel A2Z, also briefly mentioned the return of the referee’s review.
“What I can confirm is 'yung referee's review is going to be made available sa PBA,” said Zaballero.
PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial then followed that up with a joke about what this could mean for the league’s referees.
“Dahil dun palagay ko madami na namang masus-supend na referee nito,” Marcial jokingly said.
The referee’s review had been a feature of the league years back.
Zaballero nor Marcial, however, did not specify any more details about the return of the review system.
PBA fans will just have to wait to see how this will unfold in the new season which will begin on November 5.
