On the court, it’s all good with Mikey Williams and the TNT Tropang Giga. They've won two PBA titles in the same number of years, in case you forgot.
But on the negotiating table, things turn ugly between the two camps. The first problem saw the sweet shooter go AWOL but was eventually resolved. Their latest contract dispute, on the other hand, has no happy ending in sight.
Without the services of Williams, the Tropang Giga have started their PBA Commissioner’s Cup campaign with a 1-1 record. As for the 32-year-old Filipino-American, he seems to be in the process of moving on as well.
On Tuesday, Williams took to Instagram to reveal where he currently is— mentally and emotionally—by reposting a quote.
“I’m not stressin bout no shit nomo what ever don’t go right just ain’t meant for me,” Williams shared on his Instagram Story.
It’s a safe bet to say that the two-time Finals MVP was pertaining to his tumultuous relationship with TNT. With that being said, it’s truly a pity that they couldn’t see eye to eye.
Aside from winning two championships, the 2021 Rookie of the Year also became a two-time Mythical Team member, an All-Star, and a scoring champion. The Tropang Giga and Williams were truly a good match.
They say all good things come to an end. But this one may have ended too early.
