Another chance for T-Rob.
It didn’t take long for former NLEX Road Warrior import Thomas Robinson to find a new home.
The NBA veteran had parted ways with the Road Warriors for "taking an unplanned vacation and skipping team practices."
Since then, NLEX has been fielding 26-year-old forward Stokley Chaffee Jr., who is looking to make a name for himself in the PBA.
But just over two weeks after he departed from the PBA, Robinson has already found a new team to play for as he is headed to Indonesia to play for the Pelita Jaya Basketball Club.
The Indonesian team already welcomed Robinson on their social media pages.
In four games with NLEX, Robinson averaged solid numbers of 34.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks.
The fifth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, though, won’t be the only import in Pelita Jaya.
Joining him are Malachi Richardson, who played for the Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors, and KJ McDaniels, who’s not just a former NBA player but was also an import in the PBA for several conferences.
Incidentally, both Robinson and McDaniels played for the Road Warriors.
It will be interesting to see how the three former NBA pros will blend to lead Pelita Jaya in the tournament.
This will also be a good opportunity for Robinson to show that he is solely focused on playing basketball and leading his team to victory—and that he won't be taking an unplanned vacation and skipping team practices anymore.
