Meralco regained its winning ways with a 107-91 decision over Terrafirma in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

The Bolts thus improved to a 2-1 card in Group A while adding to the woes of the Dyip, who absorbed their third straight loss in as many games.

Behind Bong Quinto and Allen Durham, the Bolts stopped Terrafirma on its tracks when the Dyip made things interesting in the fourth period.

Terrafirma leaned on Paolo Hernandez's hot hands to trim a 16-point deficit to six, 90-84, with still 6:40 remaining in the game.

That was when Quinto and Durham restored order for the Bolts as they powered a furious 13-1 run, with three triples coming from the former, for a 103-85 lead.

It was all Meralco from there.

Durham finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds three assists, and two steals, while Quinto fired 22 points and Chris Banchero added 17.

Rookie CJ Cansino also came up big, uncorking four three-pointers for 16 points for the Bolts, who also got a huge blow with Chris Newsome, Raymond Almazan, Aaron Black and Toto Jose all nursing injuries.

"Talagang ni-re-ready kami ni coach Nenad (Vucinic) at coach Luigi (Trillo) sa mga ganitong situwasyon. Pag may na-injure sa'min, lahat kami makaka-execute," said Quinto.

Stanley Pringle paced Terrafirma with 19 points, five rebounds, six assists and two steals while Antonio Hester had 18-8-4-4 that went for naught.
