New PBA three-point king Marcio Lassiter of the San Miguel Beermen gives credit where credit is due.
Rightfully so, the new all-time PBA three-point king is hailed the latest Pilipinas Live-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week.
Marcio Lassiter puts on the cherry on top of a record-setting performance for the San Miguel Beermen, by earning the Player of the Week citation in the Governors’ Cup for the period of September 10-15.
Averaging 17 points on a 56% shooting clip beyond the arc, the 10-time PBA champion paced the Beermen to a spotless 3-0 week and towards the top of Group B with a 6-2 win-loss record.
That stretch saw San Miguel averaged a whopping 128 points per game and also extended the Beermen's winning run to four games, with two games left in their elimination round campaign
Lassiter made his mark in the Beermen’s latest win against Barangay Ginebra on Sunday, September 15 as he surpassed Jimmy Alapag’s previous record of 1,250 career triples.

The record-breaking three-pointer came at the 7:10 mark when Lassiter pulled up from the top of the arc and splashed one, to the delight of the Beermen bench and fans inside the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Lassiter had mixed emotions in accomplishing the feat, but was grateful to earning his place among the PBA greats.
“I’m truly honored and blessed to be in this position. Words can’t describe how I feel. I’m overwhelmed with a lot of emotions right now.”
