The TNT Tropang Giga said they are entertaining offers from other PBA teams regarding the rights to prolific scorer Mikey Williams.
If they, or anyone really, can contact him, that is.
TNT team manager Jojo Lastimosa bared their status with the PBA Season 47 Governors' Cup Finals MVP on Saturday.
While the Tropang Giga terminated Williams' contract in 2023 after missing games and failing to show up, the squad still holds his rights in the PBA.
"We're actually entertaining some proposal from other teams," Lastimosa told One PH's Power & Play. "We're open already to trading his rights."
"If they're willing to get Mikey and for them to talk to him personally, we'll trade his rights. It's up to them," he added.
There's just one problem. And it's been the team's problem for quite a while.
"Apparently, it's really so hard to get hold of Mikey. That is the big problem, because he has no agent. Mikey can't be reached and he doesn't reach out," Lastimosa admitted.
"So if that's the case, if there's no communication line between the two, then there's just no way that you'll be able to come back."
Lastimosa had quite the rollercoaster relationship with Williams during his time as concurrent TNT coach.
A contract renegotiation saw Williams go AWOL for many weeks before finally agreeing to a three-year deal in time for the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals, thanks to Jolas.

It ended with Lastimosa hugging Williams and cradling his face when TNT won the Season 47 Governors' Cup Finals against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

But come opening night of PBA Season 48, it became difficult once again to contact Williams.
“From Mikey, nothing. I’m going to tell you if there’s a response from him,” the TNT headmaster revealed back in November 2023.

Perhaps other teams will be more successful in calling Mikey, maybe?
