NLEX’s “Dayo” is an initiative to bring the Road Warriors closer to the communities to strengthen bonds and engagement.
As the NLEX Road Warriors continue their mission to unite communities in the north through basketball, their “Dayo” program made its latest stop at the Tangos National High School in Navotas last March 14, 2025, hosting a special basketball clinic for aspiring young athletes.
NLEX’s “Dayo” is an initiative to bring the Road Warriors closer to the communities to strengthen bonds and engagement. Through this initiative, NLEX reaffirms its commitment to fostering a love for basketball and inspiring the next generation of athletes in Luzon.
100 kids eagerly participated in the clinic led by Coach Emman Monfort, NLEX Road Warriors head coach Jong Uichico, basketball legend Asi Taulava, and players Robbie Herndon and Jhan Nermal.
The Road Warriors also took this opportunity to donate basketball equipment to support Tangos National High School's athletic program and help ensure the school's budding athletes have the resources to improve their game.
For Nermal, the event was a heartwarming reminder of his journey as a young athlete.
"Para sa akin, masarap sa pakiramdam, kasi nakikita ko po ang sarili ko sa mga batang gustong matuto at excited sa mga gagawin na tungkol sa basketball,” he said.
“At siyempre po, masarap din sa pakiramdam na may napapasaya at natutulungan tayong tao," added Nermal.
With the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup fast approaching, Nermal and Herndon's visit to Navotas provided a morale boost as they connected with the community and found renewed inspiration through the smiles of the children they mentored.
