Fresh off another clutch performance, Chris Newsome and the Meralco Bolts aim to keep their winning start as they take on the Terrafirma Dyip in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup on Sunday, April 6.

The match starts at 5:00 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The reigning All-Filipino champions opened their title defense on a high note, escaping with a thrilling 91-89 win over Converge in their conference debut last Friday.

Newsome, true to his Finals MVP form, delivered when it mattered most—draining a game-tying triple with 59 seconds left before sinking the go-ahead basket with less than a second to go.

The Gilas Pilipinas standout finished with 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

With momentum on their side and their championship poise on full display, the Bolts (1-0) look to keep the early fire burning against a rebuilding Terrafirma squad still trying to find its footing.

Meralco’s depth and experience could once again prove the difference as the Bolts seek to stay among the early leaders in the season-ending All-Filipino tournament.
