The rivalry between Creamline and Petro Gazz has become one of the most iconic in PVL history.

As the two powerhouse squads prepare to clash once again in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference Finals, let’s revisit the five previous times they went head-to-head for the championship.

1. 2019 Reinforced Conference

Winner: Petro Gazz

Petro Gazz claimed its first PVL title in the 2019 Reinforced Conference, defeating a loaded Creamline squad in the Finals.

Behind the power duo of imports Wilma Salas and the late-Janisa Johnson, the Angels stunned the Cool Smashers in three games, winning Games 2 and 3 to make a statement in their first title showdown.

2. 2019 Open Conference

Winner: Creamline

Just months after their Reinforced loss to Petro Gazz, Creamline returned with a vengeance.

Behind the core of Alyssa Valdez, Jema Galanza, and Jia de Guzman, the Cool Smashers swept the best-of-three series, reclaiming their dominance in the All-Filipino setup and exacting revenge against the Angels.

3. 2022 Open Conference

Winner: Creamline

After a pandemic pause, the two teams met again in the 2022 Open Conference Finals. The Cool Smashers once again outgunned the Angels in the best-of-three Finals, showing their depth and chemistry with Valdez taking home Finals MVP honors.

4. 2023 1st All-Filipino Conference

Winner: Creamline

Creamline asserted its dominance once more in an all-local battle.

With Carlos and Galanza leading the offense and De Guzman providing stability, Creamline edged Petro Gazz in a grueling three-game series to secure a sixth PVL crown. Unlike their previous duel, the Cool Smashers actually overcame a Game 1 loss to take the title in dramatic fashion.

5. 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference

Winner: To be decided

Now, they meet again. With the Finals tipping off on April 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, both squads are out to make history.

Creamline seeks to defend its title and extend its legacy as Grand Slam champion, while Petro Gazz looks to finally capture its first All-Filipino crown—one that has long eluded the Angels.
