Coach Bonnie Tan would have to rely on his import Marcus Weathers and his young guns such as Arvin Tolentino to secure their first win in the Governors' Cup.

Star guard Robert Bolick will not be seeing action once again in NorthPort's second game on Thursday night against Meralco, Tan confirmed to One Sports.

"No new deal still. Status quo," Bolick's agent Marvin Espiritu told One Sports in a statement.

The guard had signed an extension with NorthPort back in February 2022. His contract expires this January 31.

Bolick averaged 21 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists in the Commissioner's Cup and was in the running for the Best Player of the Conference plum.

The Batang Pier did not play during the start of the Governors' Cup last Sunday due to a hamstring injury, according to PBA courtside reporter Apple David.

Without him, NorthPort suffered a 30-point beatdown at the hands of Converge. That was their third all-time worst loss, according to PBA statistician Fidel Mangonon III.
